Sorry there has been no blog update for a while. Not much going on. We have been sticking close to home, since swine flu is going around we don't want Emma to get sick. But we are starting to venture out to some not so crowded places.
Last week we went as a late mother's day gift, to one of my favorite eating places. We went a little early and avoided the crowd. There were only 2 other tables full when we got there. The waitress remembered Ella and Emma from our last trip a few months back, I am surprised since that was the only other time we have taken the girls. She even remembered their names! It was yummy food and we had a pretty ok time.
Emma is excited to watch nascar today, it got rained delayed last night which made her a little bummed out. But she did manage to watch the Indy 500 and some Red Wings Hockey so the day wasn't a total loss. HA HA. She is still sleeping, and has to get up and in her chair so she can watch it with me. I think she is cheering for Tony Stewart today, but don't tell anyone in our extended family, they are all Jeff Gordon lovers.
I remember our big cook out last year on Memorial day, it was so fun. But its hot and I am not in the mood to get outside today, and worry if Emma over heats she could have a seizure. So its a day of nascar and eating lasagna tonight Yummy.
So on the topic of Memorial day I found this poem I thought I might share. Please remember those who gave their lives for your freedom today, and those still serving to protect you today. God Bless Emma's Uncle Jay, Uncle Adam, and friends who serve (too many to list but you know who you are) Also thinking of the families left behind and hoping today they will know that we do not forget.

The poppies blow
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

May 13 2009
What a day yesterday was. First we read little Kayleigh passed. Then I got a phone call and it is with heavy heart I say that Emma's little friend Emma Mae also passed away yesterday. You might remember Emma Mae from the christmas pics I posted, we had ornaments with her and her brother's picture on them hanging from our tree.
Emma Mae aka little Emma was my Emma Louise's aka Big Emma's best friend. Though they never met, we all became close over the last 3 years online.
Emma Mae had spina bifida. She turned 3 years old in March. Two days ago while riding in the car she stopped breathing and despite CPR she suffered severe brain and organ damage and yesterday morning she went to be with Jesus.
So as you can imagine we are really sad here and I am writing this to plead to everyone to please pray for her family. Her Mom Cristina, her Dad Matt and her little baby brother Caleb. I can't even begin to comprehend their profound loss. My heart aches for them.
Last night, we moved a picture of Emma Mae from Emma's bulletin board and put it with her picture of Daniel that sits in her bed. Now both her angels are watching over her.

It is with a heavy heart I ask you to click on our friend Kayleigh's blog today and ask for prayers for her family. Little Kayleigh lost her battle for life last night and now is in the arms of Jesus. A lot of courage and strength was packed into that little 1 lb miracle from God, her courage and spirit has been such an inspiration to us for such a long time. Bless you little one, and prayers will always continue for your family.

Happy Mother's day
Just wanted to do a quick update and say Happy Mother's day to all those Mom's out there that stop by to read our blog.
No big plans for us, Dad had to work today, so we might go out to dinner next week when he is off. Just been hanging out with the kids, and enjoying the day.Made some hamburgers for dinner yummy yummy. I did get a beautiful flower arrangement from Donna, Daniel's Mom. She is a wonderful best friend.
We did not make it to church, and I and we probably will not go for about 2 more week or so. Swine flu has found its way to our state and town and we are avoiding large crowds with Emma. We will miss our church family so much, but we really want to be careful to keep everyone well. I am not super parnoid about swine flu, we took these same precautions during regular flu season as well. In a few weeks time we should be able to tell how bad it is, and hopefully it will be minor so we can get out and go back to church and shopping trips.
Bless you all, thanks for checking on us, and again Mom's have a great day!
PS the above pic is a Cerebral Palsy awareness button, I love it!
